THE R.K. LAROS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES LOCAL GRANTS
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-December 22, 2014
The Bethlehem based R.K.Laros Foundation announces a total of $83,800 in grants awarded to six Bethlehem non-profit organizations. Receiving awards throughout December (photographs attached):
Northeast Ministry, $3,800 in support of costs for expansion of the existing food pantry awarded to Executive Director, Ann Gibson, staff and volunteers by Trustee Ron Donchez December 5th.
ArtsQuest, $20,000 in support of costs for schematic designs for the expansion and renovation of The Banana Factory awarded to President and CIO Jeff Parks by Trustee Laurie Gostley Hackett December 10th.
The Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, $20,000 in support of costs for the Second Harvest expansion and relocation by Trustee George Mowrer at the Capital Campaign kick-off awarded to Campaign Co-Chairs David Schaffer Co-CEO Just Born and Anne Baum Vice President of Capital Blue Cross December 15th.
The Bethlehem Public Library, $20,000 in support of the capital project to build a program/activity room as part of the proposed Children’s Center awarded to Executive Director Josh Berk and Director of Development Liza Holzinger by Trustee Laura Bennett Shelton December 16th.
Valley Youth House, $10,000 to support the costs to replace existing flooring awarded to Lorrie Reddy, Director of Residential Programs and Sheila Wright Asst Director Lehigh Valley Shelters by Trustee Ron Madison December 16th.
VIA Lehigh Valley, $10,000 to support the costs necessary to replace flooring in the dining, hallway and administrative areas awarded to Rachel Kave Development Coordinator, Mary Joy Kaiser Pres/Executive Director, Gerry Yasso VP of Resource Development by Trustee Diane Donaher December 19th.
The R.K. Laros Foundation was founded in 1952 by R.K and Helen Laros and provides grant support primarily for capital projects in the Bethlehem Area. Grant proposals for the Board of Trustees semi-annual review will be accepted until May 1, 2015 from Bethlehem non-profits.
